Dashavatharam

When dharma or righteousness wanes in the world, it is believed that divine forces manifest to restore balance. This dance work narrates the stories of the dasha-avatara or ten incarnations of Vishnu to reestablish dharma. He is said to have come in many forms – from the fish to the lion to the perfect man and more – in the quest of dharma. It is believed that such periodic descent is still playing out, as the last frontier of struggle is not external, but internal in our lives and conduct. And so it is believed that good shall always triumph.
